Earlier today, we announced Honeywell completed its acquisition of Gardiner Group – one of Europe’s leading distributors of electronic security products. This is a terrific opportunity for ADI, as the addition of Gardiner Group significantly expands our European footprint, gives us greater logistical scale and positions us to become the provider of choice for our Pan-European customers and suppliers. I am confident that the combination of our two highly complementary businesses will achieve far more together than separately.
I am pleased to announce that Jean-François Gazielly, former CEO of Gardiner Group, will become Managing Director of the combined EMEA business, which will be called ADI-GARDINER. This is a vote of confidence in the outstanding leadership of Jean-François, who has guided and developed Gardiner Group into an industry leader and trusted partner to customers and suppliers across Europe. Jean-François is the right person to lead us into the next chapter of our growing business in Europe.
For me personally, one of the most exhilarating aspects of this combination is that it brings together the skills and experience of the dedicated employees from both organizations. Together, we represent the best know-how in the security products distribution business, and I believe we all have a great deal to share and learn from each other. Please join me in extending a warm greeting to our 800 new colleagues in more than 10 countries throughout Europe. Now we begin the work of integrating the businesses and creating growth opportunities for employees, customers and suppliers. Accelerating our growth around the world is the primary reason for this acquisition. It’s an extension of our focus on our customers’ needs and how we grow when we concentrate on their business success.
We have created a successful model in North America and worked hard to build a strong business in Europe. The addition of Gardiner Group means we now have a combined portfolio of complementary solutions, brands, suppliers and customers, and an expanded geographic presence in Europe with 100 branch locations in 14 European countries.
It’s a very exciting time to be at ADI, as we expand our reach and work to deliver even better solutions to our customers and suppliers. I know you’ll join me in doing everything possible to ensure our success, and to welcome our new colleagues.
